This Standard provides guidance to managers and engineers for the selection and application of reliability analysis methods. Its purpose is to

(a) describe some of the reliability analysis methods which are most commonly used and are representative of international standard methods; -

(b) provide guidance for the selection of analysis methods depending on technology and application of the system or product being analyzed; and

(c) give requirements for the documentation of results obtained through reliability analysis
