This specification covers the performance requirements, related quality assurance provisions, and packaging data for the Periscopes:XM44E1 and XM44E2. The periscopes provide a unity-power viewing system and a nine power passive (low light level) sighting system. The periscopes are equipped with a reticle projector which projects the image of a reticle pattern into the sighting system.
intended Use:
- The Tank Periscopes:XM44E1 and XM44E2 are intended for use as the gunner's sighting and observation system in the Armored Reconnaissance Airborne Assault Vehicle:M551.
