This specification covers the requirements for a single pointer, integrally lighted, 0-to 50,000-foot range cabin altimeter.
Altimeters shall be of the following types, as specified (see 6.2);
* AAU-3A Cover glass coated with an antireflection coating per MIL-C-675.
* AAU-3A/A Cover glass coated with multilayer antireflection coating of high efficiency.
intended Use:
The altimeter covered by this specification is intended for use in aircraft equipped with pressurized cabins to indicate the pressure altitude in the cabins.
