This handbook was developed under the auspices of tic US ARmY Materiel Commando's Engineering Design Handbook Program, wHich is under the direction of the US Anny Industrial Engineering Activity. Research Triangle institute (RTf) was the prime contractor for tie preparation of this handbook, which was prepared under Contract No. DAAA09-86-D-0Q09, Advanced Technology and Research Corporation was a subcontractor to RTi for tie preparation of this handbook. The principal investigator was Mr. William C. Pickier. The development of this handbook was guided by a technical working group, which was chaired by Dr. Frederick R. Tapper of tie US Army armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center.
