This Standard provides safety requirements for the design, construction, testing, and use of hand-held and handled metal punches and drift pins that are intended specifically for use in marking metal, for driving and removing such things as pins and rivets, and for aligning holes in different sections of material. Some types of punches included are: center, prick, pin, starting, drift or lining up, round, backing out, and bearing race. Power-driven punches are excluded.
