APPLICABILITY AND SCOPE

This Directive:

Applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Military Departments (including their Reserve components - specifically their respective Recruiting Commands) and the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Defense. The Term "Military Services," as used hereafter, refers to the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Marine Corps, and their Reserve components.

Specifies the responsibilities, policies, and guidance for the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of space for military recruiting personnel.

REISSUANCE AND PURPOSE

This Directive:

Reissues reference (a) to update policies and guidance for providing adequate space for recruiting offices, intermediate commands and main stations.

Establishes the Joint Recruiting Facilities Committee (JRFC) to oversee implementation of DoD policy regarding recruiting facilities.

Designates the Secretary of the Army as the DoD Executive Agent for the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of space needed for recruiting offices, intermediate commands, and main stations of the Military Services, hereafter referred to as the "DoD Executive Agent" in accordance with reference (b).
