This Part 1 of the MLS specification defines General Requirements that are applicable to all MLS Ground Equipment to be furnished by the contractor. This includes general performance requirements in areas such as modularity, integrity, continuity of service, electromagnetic compatibility, reliability, maintainability and testability. Development requirements are included for software and firmware, interface requirements are included for all equipment interfaces, and equipment requirements are included in the Remote Monitoring System (RMS). It also includes general type documentation requirements such as reliability and maintainability plans. In addition, this specification defines the interrelationships between the various MLS specifications.
