Purpose.

To provide policy and process for making Department of the Navy (DON) acquisition category (ACAT) acquisition program decisions. This revision reflects the contents of references (a), (b), and (c). This instruction has been administratively revised and should be reviewed in its entirety.

Applicability.

This instruction applies to all weapon system and information technology (IT) ACAT programs defined by references (a), (b), and (c).
