scope:
This standard describes the fitness for purpose test route of new steels proposed for submarine hull construction. The order of testing as described in this standard has been designed to provide the quickest and most economic route for hull material assessment. This minimises the risk of carrying out extensive testing before the steel is rejected for failure to satisfy one or more property criteria.
