This Standard describes the engineering process to be used in the development of the content of shipboard industrial test procedures for equipment and systems.

This Standard is intended to be used by either contractor or Navy organizations in the development of industrial test procedures for shipboard equipment and systems. It applies to test procedures used during initial installation, after repair or modification, and after extended shutdown periods. The Standard applies to test procedures used during ship construction, modernizations, overhauls, and restricted availabilities.
