- The equipment described by this purchase description is vhf direction finder (df) system designed to operate over a frequency range of 118.000 MHz through 136.975 MHz and provide intelligible audio reception simultaneous with df information. The equipment will provide 760 channels spaced every 25 kHz with ten preset channels within the above range and will be designed to have high reliability solid-state, remotely controlled and monitored, modular features. It will provide aircraft direction information from aircraft transmissions and emergency locator transmitter throughout 360 degrees around the antenna array. The input/output terminal (iot) at the controlling location remote bearing indicator will be capable of interconnecting[1 omitted word(s)] and controlling up to 24 vhf df (vdf) locations. Additionally, up to 4 information display/control positions may be installed at a remote location, typically an automated flight service station (AFSS) or flight service station (FSS). The vdf equipment will be remotely controlled, maintained, and monitored. This function will be performed through an input/output terminal. Bearing information, vdf facility information, collocated very high frequency omni range station (VOR), distance measuring equipment (DME), tactical air navigation (TACAN) and VOR/TACAN (VORTAC) information, airport and aircraft information will be presented on a 15 to 19 inch (measured diagonally) rectangular cathode-ray tube (crt) located at the controlling location.
