This commercial item description (CID) covers an aerial ladder fire truck. It has a straight frame 6×4 chassis with a diesel engine and an automatic transmission; a cab for at least four persons with at least four doors; a 1,250 gallon per minute (gpm) fire pump; a water tank with a capacity of at least 150 gallons; hose storage areas; an aerial ladder with a permanently mounted waterway and work platform; ground ladders; and equipment compartments. The aerial ladder truck is intended to combat structural and associated fires; and to support fire fighting and rescue operations by positioning personnel, handling materials, providing continuous egress, or discharging water at positions elevated from the ground.
