Purpose. This Test Procedure specifies the performance and evaluation of a test for condensation formation and expulsion from mufflers, particularly rear mufflers without any drain holes.

Foreword. This test shall determine the condensation expulsion characteristics and the retention time of exhaust condensate in mufflers within a prescribed driving profile. The test enables an assessment of the possible corrosion characteristics of mufflers.

Applicability. For all mufflers, particularly rear mufflers without any drain holes.
