This Part of the Standard provides a list of specifications currently available against which adhesives and adhesive tapes may be procured.
Only 'open' specifications are referred to. These consist of British Standards, Aerospace Series and Defence Standards. Some open specifications (DTD, TS, CS, KB, DEF, DG SHIPS) are still extant, although no longer being maintained with the exception of DTDs.

Open specifications may contain "Type Approval" clauses - these specifications are identified thus V. Only manufacturers that have gained such Type Approval may supply to these standards. A list of manufacturers may be obtained on request from Poly 1 Adhesives, DQA/TS, Royal Arsenal East, Woolwich, London SE18 6TD.

Specifications should be checked for amendment status and for date of issue against the relevant index (BSI Standards Catalogue, D Stan Index and DTD Index), together with any circulars issued by the relevant organization.
