scope:
This drawing covers the general requirements and tests for connectors using insert arrangements containing combinations of signal contacts and empty cavities for insertion of shielded, coaxial, high power and high voltage contacts.
The complete part number shall be as specified on the item requirements drawing and constructed using the following format:
The DESC requirements drawing shall state the requirements values and design modifications required of the connectors to be acquired by the Government.
Connectors covered by this drawing shall be of the following classes:
G - General purpose connectors. N - Nonmagnetic connectors. M - Same as N except class M is intended for spaceborne missions where high reliability is required. D - Same as G except class D is intended for spaceborne missions where high reliability is required.
Connectors covered by this drawing shall be of the following signal contacts termination styles:
A - Crimp removable contacts. B - Solder cup, non-removable contacts. C - Printed circuit board contacts. U - No signal contacts included, only size 8 cavities.
Connectors covered by this drawing shall be of the following types:
E - Size 20 signal contacts with additional size 8 contact cavities. F - Size 22D signal contacts with additional size 8 contact cavities. L - Size 8 contact cavities only.
Connectors covered by this drawing shall have the following contacts:
P - Pin S - Socket.
Connectors covered by this drawing shall be made with the following mounting options:
R - Conventional mounting (not float mounted) T - Dual float mount for either front or rear panel mounting.
