The procedures and reporting provisions of this instruction do not apply to audits conducted by the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) or investigations conducted by Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) and Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS). Follow-up policies and procedures for DCAA audits are contained in DoDD 7640.2. The policy and procedures for DCIS and NCIS are outlined in SECNAV Instruction 3830.2D.
