These instructions are designed to facilitate compliance with those sections of the principle Act and Statutory Requirements dealing with radioactive materials insofar as these Acts affect the handling, transport, storage, and disposal of electronic valves containing radionuclides. The principle Acts are:
the Radioactive Substances Act, 1960;
the ionizing Radiations (Sealed Sources) Regulations, 1969;
the Ionizing Radiations (Unsealed Radioactive Substances) Regulations, 1968;
the Radioactive Substances (Carriage by Road) (Great Britain) Regulations, 1970,No 1826;
the Radioactive Substances (Road Transport Workers) (Great Britain) Regulations, 1970, No 1827.
