1. SCOPE
This standard covering Metric Type S Spring Pins conforms in all essentials with the industry standards for slotted spring pins. The slotted spring construction enables these pins to better withstand shock and changing oscillating or intermittent dynamic loads than their solid counterparts. However, because the many factors involved in dynamic loading make it difficult to readily relate theoretical data to actual application performance, it is recommended that tests simulating the actual installed conditions be employed where it is considered necessary to determine the dynamic loading performance capabilities of the pin.
