This specification relates to magnetic alloys intended for use at audio and radio frequencies. The material consists generally of about 75 per cent to 80 per cent nickel, and 12 per cent to 16 per cent iron with minor amounts of modifying elements, which may be one or more of copper, chromium, manganese or molybdenum. The material is rolled into strip of thickness -008 in. or less, and is supplied without annealing.

It does not apply to finished products, either laminations or spiral cores.

The material shall conform to the general specification DEF-501, which shall be deemed to be part of this

Section 3 A performance and test specification, which defines the acceptable limits of performance, the tests to be applied and the test sampling procedure to be used.
