Delay lines covered by this specification are designed to be used in electronic equipment where a pulse delay is required. Their principle areas of application are for aircraft, missiles, spacecraft, shipboard, and ground-support equipment. The delay lines covered by this specification must be able to operate satisfactorily in military systems under the following demanding conditions: operating temperature range of −55°C to +125°C, up to 100g of shock, and have reduced susceptibility to corrosion in salt water environments. These military requirements are verified under a qualification system.
