This INTERIM Defence Standard specifies requirements for a polyester felt for use in certain filter elements. Currently the physical/chemical requirements established are insufficient to fully define the capability of the felt to give a product complying with TS 50506. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the purchaser of the felt (filter element manufacturer) to establish that the material can be suitably impregnated to comply with the requirements of TS 50506.
