This specification covers block and shroud type fuseholders and associated fuse clips for use with electrical, electronic, telephone, and instrument the fuses primarily covered by MIL-F-15160 and MIL-F-23419.

The type designation of fuseholders shall be in the following form, and as specified (see 3.1 and6.2):

The class is identified by a two-letter symbol denoting the physical and electrical characteristics of a particular fuseholder. The first letter denotes the number of electrical poles in accordance with table I. The second letter denotes the adaptability of the fuseholder to electrical circuits in accordance with table II. The third letter, "F", where applicable, shall designate fuseholders having copper clad steel fuse clips. The type designation for fuse clips shall be in the following form, and as specified (see 3.1 and 6.2):

The style shall be identified by the two-letter symbol "FC" followed by a two-digit number. The letters denote fuse clips; the number denotes the design and construction of a particular fuse clip.

The serial for fuse clips within a particular style shall be designated by a single letter to identify different sizes.

Material for fuse clips is designated by a single letter "N" for nonferrous and "F" for copper clad steel.
