scope:

The contents cover practices commonly used by small parts manufacturers in the production of metal stampings as produced on standard types of punch presses. Such items as air frames, air foils, automobile bodies, car building, sheet metal piping and duct work, and similar large sheet metal products are omitted. Method of dimensioning shall be in accordance to Sections 5 and 16 of the American Drafting Standards Manual.

Some of the material shown in this manual has been incorporated as an aid in laying out and delineating a product which will be subjected to metal stamping processes. Material such as, references to methods of fabrication, die clearances, etc., have been included for reference purposes, although this type of information is not specified on the production drawing.
