scope:
This specification sets forth the requirements for an ASR-4B/5/6 improvement package. The contractor shall be responsible for:
(1) The removal of the existing ASR-4B/5/6 antenna and installa-of a GFE ASR-8 antenna,
(2) The design, production and installation of a receiver RF control system,
(3) The design, production and installation of log/FTC/antilog receiver for both normal and MTI channels,
(4) The design, production and installation of a Range Azimuth Gate (RAG) unit,
(5) The design, production and installation of a Solid State monitor PPI.
The ASR-8 antenna's dual drive system offers increased reliability. The RAG unit and the ASR-8 dual beam antenna will allow improved low angle coverage and a reduction in clutter. The normal log video output will be selectable in place of the normal video output and the MTI log video output will be selected in place of the MTI video output. These new log circuits will improve the radar performance by increasing aircraft detectability in the presence of precipitation.
