scope:

(a) Those portions of the component which do not experience elevated temperature service (as defined by the rules for design of elevated temperature Class 2 and 3 components) shall either use the rules of this Case or NC-4000, or ND-4000 as applicable.

(b) Those portions of a component which meet the condition that creep and stress rupture effects need not be considered (as defined by Appendix E of the rules for design of Class 2 or 3 elevated temperature components) shall either use the rules of this Case or NC-4000 or ND-4000, as applicable.

(c) Those portions of the component that do not meet the conditions in (a) or (b) above shall comply with the provisions of this Case.

(d) Those portions of the component which use either options (a) and (b), or (c) above, shall be so identified during all steps of manufacture and installation.
