This document discusses the various aspects that relate to functional and technical user requirements on tracking and tracing systems. Chapter 1 provides a brief overview of some aspects relating to the usage of IT systems in freight transport. Functional requirements and user requirements are discussed in chapter 2; these lead to a number of technical and system requirements which are described in chapter 3. Finally, security requirements are outlined in chapter 4.
