FAA-ER-500-007/6

CONSOLIDATED CAB DISPLAY/REMOTE MAINTENANCE MONITOR SYSTEM

active, Most Current
Organization: FAA
Publication Date: 17 May 1979
Status: active
Page Count: 32
scope:

- This Part 6 contains the requirements which are applicable alone or in conjunction with other parts of this ER, to the design, fabrication, testing, installation, and field validation of the lighting/RVR subsystem of a CCD/RMM system to be installed and operated in FAA terminal facilities. The lighting/RVR subsystem consists of a facility processing unit (FPU) for each lighting system and RVR site to be monitored. Each FPU shall be comprised of a microcomputer, data communications unit (modem), status/control interface, and an uninterruptable power supply (UPS). The facilities to be monitored are the medium intensity approach lighting system with runway alignment indicator lights (MALSR), the approach lighting system (ALS), the visual approach slope indicator (VASI), and runway visual range (RVR). Each FPU makes the determination of the status of a single facility (i. e., each MALSR, ALS, VASI, and RVR) through the initiation of automatic tests, and periodically measures and collects certification type data for each facility. The FPU stores and transmits all data available for use at the central processing subsystem (CPS).
