This INTERIM Defence Standard specifies requirements for heat-shrinkable low density polyethylene film suitable for the shrink-wrapping of stores.

The film, available in widths of 250 mm and greater, and in thicknesses of 25 to 100 μm, has a shrinkability from less than 10% to greater than 35% in the transverse direction and from 30% to greater than 60% in the machine direction. Combinations of these shrinkabilities are not available in all thicknesses: as film thickness increases, maximum machine direction shrinkability decreases.
