This Defence Standard sets out the requirements for the design and testing of ventilation systems including monitors and alarms for submarine main battery installations.

This standard only applies to batteries with lead-acid cells.

It does not cover the design of the battery cells or the battery agitation or cooling systems. This information is contained in BR 2075 or the relevant manufacturer's handbook.
