scope:

This International Standard gives criteria for GC-MS identification of target compounds in soil samples. This International Standard shall be used in accordance with standards developed for the determination of the specific compounds. The identification criteria are based on the comparison of retention times followed by interpretation of the electron impact mass spectra, or if necessary, additional MS techniques and other relevant factors. NOTE When complex matrices or complex mixtures are analysed, this standard may not be applicable.
