This guide presents various approaches of good practice that will improve the ability to assemble and erect self-supporting and guyed concrete pole structures. This guide covers construction aspects after foundation installation and up to the conductor stringing operation.

Concrete pole structures may have components made of other materials (i.e., steel, wood, aluminum). Though some aspects of construction related to these materials are covered in this document, it should not be considered complete. Other documents cover these materials in more detail (see IEEE Std 951-1988¹).
