This section established interface requirements for shipboard equipment utilizing standard a.c. electric power to ensure compatibility between such user equipment and the power system, to define the shipboard electrical power system characteristics, to require that the user equipment be designed to operate from power systems with these characteristics, and to restrict any adverse effect of the user equipment on the power system.
