Purpose.The purpose of this standard is to provide uniform dimensions for aluminum and magnesium wrought products for use throughout the Government. The tolerances specified herein apply to procurement and inspection requirements far aluminum and magnesium alloy wrought products when referenced in applicable detail procurement specifications. The tolerances given here in are in conformance with the commercial standard tolerances in effect at the time this standard was prepared. Tolerances differing from those specified, or for sizes and shapes not covered by this standard, should be as agreed upon between the procuring agency and the contractor.
