This standard established the requirements for the selection of hardware and insulators used in the design and manufacture of Navy equipment.
Purpose. The purpose of this standard is to control and minimize the variety of hardware and insulators in Navy equipment in order to facilitate effective logistic support, improve quality, and reduce cost.
