Purpose:
This specification provides a standard for the manufacture, performance, inspection and procurement of machines designed to sharpen all types of metal cutting tools, and to perform internal and external surface grinding.
Classification:
Machines covered by this specification shall be the following types as described in Table I (Page 14):
Type I - Tool and Cutter Grinder
Type II - Tool and Cutter Grinder with optional power or hand table feed, extended table and extended table travel.
Type III - Universal Tool and Cutter Grinder
