This part of IEC 1312 provides information for the design, installation, inspection, maintenance and testing of an effective lightning protection system for information systems in or on a structure. The following cases are outside the scope of this standard: vehicles, ships, aircraft, and offshore installations are covered by regulations made by specific authorities.
