This INTERIM DEF STAN 59-44 series covers the system of selection, specifications, qualification approval, inspection, packaging, and release of fixed capacitors for Ministry of Defence use.

This PART implements BS 9000 and BS CECC 30000 in prescribing the general requirements applicable to all the other PARTS of the series.

Table I in each Section of a PART in this INTERIM DEF STAN 59-44 series will list the standard range of items for Service use, which are recommended by the Master Specification Officer (MSO).

The Tables include brief information on ratings and characteristics. For complete information, reference must be made to the relevant BS Detail Specification.

For all requirements, IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT EQUIPMENT DESIGNERS WORK TO DIMENSIONS STATED I N THE BS DETAIL SPECIFICATION AND NOT TO THOSE OF INDIVIDUAL SPECIMENS
