1 Scope
This specification covers the minimum performance requirements for electrolytically deposited chromium coatings on the first surface of plastic components. To obtain good adhesion of the electrolytically applied chromium coating, to the plastic substrate, the latter may be pre-treated with relevant coatings (i.e. copper, nickel, chromium or copper free constructions etc.) applied by suitable processes. Two types of finish are specified: c-: Type A : for parts used externally Type B : for parts used internally Type C: for part used externally, which are exposed with high corrosiv strain This type of finish shall be principally used for decorative effects.
