This standard establishes criteria to minimize the hazards of fire during the installation and operation of stationary combustion engines and gas turbines.
Purpose and Scope.
This standard shall apply to fire safety for the installation and operation of stationary combustion engines and gas turbines. This standard also applies to portable engines that remain connected for use in the same location for a period of one week or more and that are used instead of or to supplement stationary engines.
This standard shall not apply to the following: engines used to propel any mobile structure.
Application. This document shall apply to new installations and to those portions of existing equipment and installations that are changed or modified.
