Note: In the event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence.
Purpose.
Define the process of quantifying the sound power third-octave spectra of the AIR pump/bracket assembly. The product of this procedure will be a series of sound power spectra in dB magnitude (ref 10-12 W).
Foreword.
Sound power of an energized component defines the component's source level for airborne noise. This quantity, with others, can be used to predict noise levels in the vehicle passenger compartment.
Applicability.
This test procedure is appropriate to use for all AIR pump/bracket assemblies. All passenger cars and light trucks will utilize this test procedure.
