INTRODUCTION
The two key Defence Standards for Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) are Def Stan's 00-40 and 00-41. The former deals mainly with policy and philosophy, whereas 00-41 deals mainly with procedures and practices. NATO Documents, Allied Reliability & Maintainability Publications (ARMP's) form the basis of Def Stan 00-40.
