This publication contains suggested requirements concerning the surface resistance of furniture and kitchen units. The requirements are primarily applicable to varnished surfaces, foiled surfaces and surfaces coated with plastic. In principle, the requirements are also applicable when checking the effect of the maintenance for soap, wax and oil treatment and other surfaces which require frequent maintenance. For these surfaces, the maintenance is necessary in order to keep and improve the surface resistance. The maintenance should be carried out in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer before evaluating the results.
