This International Standard IEC 1058-2-5 applies to change-over selectors for appliances actuated by hand, by foot, or by other human activity for use in, on, or with, appliances and other equipment for household and similar purposes, with a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V and a rated current not exceeding 63 A.

Replacement:

This standard applies to change-over selectors intended to be integrated or incorporated in, on, or with, an appliance or equipment.

NOTES

1 For change-overs used in tropical climates, additional requirements may be necessary.

2 Attention is drawn to the fact that the standards for appliances and equipment may contain additional or alternative requirements for change-overs.

3 Throughout this standard the word "appliance' means appliance or equipment.
