This INTERIM Defence Standard specifies requirements for a high flash-point, low aromatic type hydrocarbon solvent for use where chlorinated solvents are unacceptable. The solvent is suitable for the cleaning of electrical equipment in conventional and nuclear submarines, or in confined areas where fire or health hazards are to be minimized.
