The Initiator, Mechanical Actuated, JAU-25/A was designed to initiate a Shielded Mild Detonating Cord (SMDC) for initiating canopy jettison used in the F-18/TF-18 aircraft aircrew escape system.
intended Use:
The initiator will ultimately be used in conjunction with a SMDC in aircrew emergency escape systems. The initiator was designed for use in military aircraft and has no commercial application.
