Steel 2-inch and 2-½-inch tube and coupler scaffolding components are intended for use in engineered scaffold structures. Scaffold structures, using these components, may be defined as light duty, medium duty, or heavy duty, dependent on the desired load capacity and the resultant required post spacing as defined In CFR 1926.451 and ANSI 10.8. Scaffold structures to be erected utilizing the components specified herein should conform to the requirements of CFR 1926.451. ANSI 10.8, the SSI Recommended Scaffolding Erection Procedure and Scaffolding Safety Rules in addition to applicable local engineering guidelines. The components specified herein are not intended for use in construction of 3-½-inch outside diameter tube and coupler scaffolds.
