Organization: GMNA
Publication Date: 1 November 2005
Status: inactive
Page Count: 2
scope:

This specification covers the requirements for both grey and black thermosetting powder paints.

Types 1 (grey) and 2 (black) coatings are intended to act as a corrosion resistant primer, where exposure to UV light would require the use of a weatherable topcoat.

Types 3 (grey) and 4 (black) coatings are intended to be used as a single coating that would provide a smooth, hard, corrosion and moderately UV resistant finish.

These coatings are intended to be applied over metallic substrates that have been previously coated with zinc phosphate (9984123), iron phosphate (9984006), or other GM approved pretreatments.
