scope:

PURPOSE. To establish the policies and procedures for the implementation of the NASA Form 533 series Contractor Financial Management Reports (CFMR's).

APPLICABILITY. The requirements of this Instruction apply to contracts in excess of $500,000 and when the period of performance is 1 year or more, or where the period of performance is less than 1 year but the estimated final cost exceeds $1 million in accordance with the current NMI 9501.1.

Application to contracts less than $500,000, or $500,000 or greater and a less than 1 year period of performance is optional.

The following types of contracts require CFMR's:

(1) all cost type contracts;

(2) fixed-price incentive contracts in which cost considerations are a part of the contract; and

(3) price redetermination contracts.

This Instruction also applies to Government agencies when specified in an interagency agreement.
