This specification covers the requirements for flush-mounted electrical resistance transmitter, with temperature-resistance characteristics.

The transmitters shall be of the following types, as specified herein:

Accuracy 1.0°C - Part No. MS28038-1

Accuracy 0.5°C - Part No. MS28038-2

The Air Force designates the Part No. MS28038-1 transmitter as type B-1 and the Part No. MS28038-2 transmitter as type B-3. These designations are not applicable to Navy activities.

intended Use:

The temperature transmitter covered by this specification is intended for mounting flush on aircraft skins for precision free air temperature measurement.
