This Defence Standard invokes the requirements of CECC 75201.001 Issue 2 for Plugs and Sockets Electrical for Ministry of Defence use.
This Standard is to be used as a cross reference guide between NATO Stock Numbers/CECC Specification Number/Style Reference (formerly Pattern 602).
This Standard covers a range of Plugs and Sockets Electrical, which were originally covered by MOD Specification EL 2112 and are suitable for airframe fit applications and also general purpose and development applications.
This Standard includes the free connector (Style D) which is available with grounding fingers incorporated in the housing(Shell), to improve electrical continuity between mated plugs and sockets and provide shielding capability.
The environment resistant (non-barrier sealed) styles of Plugs and Sockets Electrical have removable crimp contacts, with contact insertion and extraction being carried out from the rear of the plug or socket using the appropriate insertion and extraction tool. To ensure compliance with the specification such plugs and sockets shall have a full compliment of contacts fitted and unwired contacts shall have filler plugs fitted in the sealing grommet. These styles are defined, in BS CECC 75201.001 as Performance Level 1.
Barrier sealed and hermetically sealed styles of plugs and sockets have non-removable solder termination contacts. These styles are defined in BS CECC 75201.001 as Performance Level 2.
For the purpose of this Standard Styles A, C, D, E and F are listed with a finish of cadmium.
